Ronald Marsico Contact: Jenna Lewis Press Aide (717) 652-3263 (717) 540-5225 Hershey Team Wins Annual Columbus Day Bocce Tournament The Ron Marsico annual bocce tournament was held on Monday, Oct. 8, at the Hershey Italian Club. The Hershey team of Josh Brinser, Vickie Camerot, Jack Camerot and Kyle Deppen held off a strong challenge from the team of Don Marsico, Ron Dougherty, Matt Marsico and Tony Marsico. Record breaking temperatures and a record breaking crowd turned out to participate and watch what turned out to be a very competitive tournament, with experienced teams being matched head-to-head in the finals. Surprise junior players, Connor Marsico, Alexander Marsico, and Trey Coates were led to the semi-finals by team captain Sam "Rip" Marsico. This team went down fighting hard to the second place winning team. Last year’s champions: Tim Marsico, Bernie Coates, Paul Romano and Jimmy Dee stumbled in the middle bracket.
"It was a fantastic day," said Marsico. "There was a lot of competition and fun. I am extraordinarily pleased and thankful for the support that was given to me." In attendance were many state, county and local elected officials, including: Representative Brian Ellis (Butler); Senator Jeff Piccola; Judge Bruce Bratton, Candidate for Pennsylvania Superior Court; Dauphin County District Attorney Ed Marsico; Dauphin County Recorder of Deeds Jim Zugay; Dauphin County Register of Wills Sandy Snyder; Dauphin County Sheriff Jack Lotwick; Dauphin County Republican Chairman John McNally; Derry Township Supervisor Mike Pries; Lower Paxton Township Supervisor Bill Seeds; and Lower Paxton Township Supervisor David Blaine. Also in attendance were: former U.S. State Senator Rick Santorum; candidate for Derry Township Supervisor Kelly Fedeli; candidate for Derry Township Supervisor Chris Abruzzo; and candidate for West Hanover Township Supervisor Deb Curcillo.
